Hey there,
Finding balance in a design, especially for bigger pieces such as necklaces, makes all the difference to whether a piece works or not.
I use to expect to be able to design in perfect balance immediately but I’ve learnt that I usually have to fiddle around with the design a little and be happy to be flexible enough to make changes.
This has been an “interesting” lesson to learn. For me it has been more about ego with ego stopping me from having the flexibility to alter the design so it finds its own balance.
Once I start to let go of my ego and realise the piece wants to do its own thing it is much easier.

I love your work. Many Sundays we’ll pop down to Bondi Markets just to have a play with your gorgeous work. I have my own small business (editing books, websites etc) too so don’t have money to spend on luxuries but one day will have a lovely lariat of my own. Just looking for the right one to come along! And when it comes I will have the money and be happy to spend it. I really like your philospohy on life, and find it quite heartening, especially the fact that you share so much of yourself with relative strangers. It’s a beautiful quality in a person.
